Start making more sales with these 5 ideas

In this guide to start making more sales, I’ll share with you my personal experience on how I went from a few product sales per month to daily passive income!

 

There’s a simple strategy to start making more sales:
content = traffic = income

However, most of us skip one part or another and then think that all we’ve done is such a waste…

If you’ve created several passive income products but have made close to zero sales, I feel you!

If you’ve, again and again, put something out there but hear just crickets, we’ve all been there!

Actionable steps that’ll help you to start making more sales

STEP #1: A mindset shift

A very (very!) popular opinion online is to grow your tribe by giving things for free, also known as freebies.

Wherever you turn, we see free eBooks, free courses, free masterclasses.

And yes, it is a bulletproof formula for growing your tribe. I absolutely support having and giving away freebies!

However, my biggest issue was that whatever I came up with, I started to feel like it should be a freebie…

Nothing seemed to have a real value since often I saw others giving the same thing for free…

And don’t get me wrong. I give tons of free stuff away. My Bulletproof Pinterest Strategy, Blog Creation Simplified guide and other pop-up products here and there.

However, I knew that I need to start valuing my work and actually MAKING SOME SALES.

Yes, in theory, ANYTHING I have or you have created, could be sent out as a freebie. Probably, a madly valuable and possibly very, very popular freebie…

However, once you’ve got to the point that you already have a decent list or, at least, your freebies do give you consistent new followers, it’s time to make some sales!!

Stop giving everything away for free! Create a few niche-focused and valuable freebies. But from there, start creating sellable products. And, at the end of the day, just as anything can be given away for free – anything can also be sold!

How to know when it’s enough?

  • Your freebie(-s) should give results. If your mailing list is growing, let it be! If you still want your list to be improved and you feel like your freebies aren’t hitting the sweet spot, experiment more.
  • If you’re in a neverending circle of creating and promoting your freebies only and you’re not making ANY money from this effort, it’s time to reboot AND START SELLING.
  • If your audience isn’t responding. Have you ever thought that your audience might be a high-ticket crowd and they literally don’t need your freebies? Maybe they’re ready to buy, take the action and jump right in. This is not very common but it can be the case!

 

STEP #2: Talk about your goddamn products

Geez, this must be even bigger than that mindset shift.

TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU’RE SELLING.

No, you don’t need to add a link to your product at the end of every paragraph. But how the hell will people know you’ve got stuff to sell IF YOU’RE NOT TALKING ABOUT IT??

Here are some actionable tips to start making more sales:

  • Mention and link your products in relevant posts (should be obvious though)
  • Review your old posts to make sure you have linked all the new products
  • Create in-post graphics leading to the product
  • Create pins leading to your products
  • Post your products or reviews on social media

All of the above might be quite obvious but now, let’s get real, is all of that really in place for you?

When I’m writing this blog post, I’m being a bit of hypocrite. I’m pretty sure there are PLENTY more places where I could share my products and mention them, I just haven’t had time to get to it…

But if you do want to start making more sales… well… chop-chop!

 

STEP #3: Try new strategies, evaluate, experiment, try again

Many online entrepreneurs learn a tactic or two, get comfortable with this business module and detest the rest.

If you’re not making enough sales, maybe it’s time to step out of your comfort zone and TRY NEW THINGS?

Digital marketing is a mad world! There are so many things one could do to build sales.

Yes, not everything will work for you – and not everything is meant to. But how about giving it a try and then evaluating yourself?

Here are some of the ideas!

Tripwire product 

This means that you’re giving away a freebie and then, after the signup, do an instant sale.

A tripwire product is something of a high-value provided with an incredibly low price.

For example, you sign up for my Blog Creation Simplified eBook for free and then get an offer to purchase Make Money Blogging Action Plan.

The original price of the action plan is $49 but those who make the purchase right away, can get it for $9!!

I know that almost anyone who’d want to start their self-hosted website will also want to make money with their blog. So this product is a huge steal for them since it provides a bulletproof strategy for your first blogging income.

A tripwire product can be anything that supports the initial freebie + will be interesting for your audience!

The most successful tripwire products will be priced quite low. However, you can also try selling more expensive products!

 

Online Webinar

This one is incredibly simple but also a very challenging idea.

If you don’t feel comfortable in front of a camera – you’re not alone. However, with a bit of trial and error, you’ll get more and more confident about yourself. Don’t ditch this idea just yet!

Online webinars are a powerful way of building trust. By talking about what you know and showing your personality, you’ll gain more potential customers way faster than with any other marketing method out there!

To do an online webinar, you don’t have to use any specific tech or sign up for webinar platforms. Start out with Facebook Live! Either on your page or in a group…

Reach out to FB group owners and ask if you can host a live webinar on the topic their audience might be interested in.

There are plenty of ways to make it happen. Don’t overcomplicate it, just give it a try!

 

Create a contest

Giveaway your products for free! Either you organize this on Instagram, Facebook or any other social media, doesn’t really matter.

Create a simple like & follow contest to drive the attention to your products.

For this to work, the prize should be valuable enough. For example, if you’re a business coach, you can giveaway 2-3 hours or coaching for free… If you have online courses or eBooks – bundle them all up and offer for the winner! Maybe give a free eBook for the next two people…

Later, you can even reach out to all participants and offer them unique discount codes for all your products or services!

STEP #4: Do an outreach campaign

Is there a way how you could cooperate with other online entrepreneurs?

Maybe you can offer them to participate in the product creation, for example, share a lesson or two… Give their expert opinion. From there, they can later become an affiliate for your product.

Or maybe you can reach out and offer to write guest posts, related to your expertise and product? Then, the product can be linked to the article!

You can also cooperate for a contest! There are plenty of different ways to go. See what works for you.

There are plenty of bloggers and online business owners who are incredibly supportive! You just have to invest some time into exploring these connections, interacting with others. Which leads us to the next point.

 

STEP #5: Interact & read other blogger stuff more

This might seem a bit of a long shot but I wanted to have this here as the last tip.

First of all, being a well-known blogger that people trust and buy from can take a while. But one of the best ways to establish this trust is by SHOWING UP.

Interact with people. Whatever social media you use, be open, have a while for commenting, liking, conversations. I don’t mean this to be a pure marketing thing. IT HAS TO BE FUN. You should become a part of the community.

That’s why it’s important to enjoy the process. Whether it’s Instagram or Facebook, Twitter or TikTok… Find your tribe!

Obviously, the more people will start to notice you, the more interest they’ll have in what you’re selling.

And I’m not talking about growing followers! It’s about making connections that really last! Even if you have only 100 followers on your Insta.

Last but not least: read more of other blog posts.

I used to suck at this! For years, I was blogging but rarely reading ANY other blog posts… And how the hell one knows how to improve if not by inspiration from others??

Reading other posts (and then leaving a comment out of a good heart!) can not only inspire you but will also help you see other perspectives, will let you evaluate what language is easier to read.

After all, every blogger is a part of a big community. We should be more supportive, open-minded for each other.
